Support the Mapping Effort

LinkWISCONSIN relies heavily on the Internet Service Provider (ISP) community to provide valuable information on the Wisconsin broadband service footprint. Our goal is to comply fully with the requirements of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration as set forth in the State Broadband Data and Development Grant (SBDD) Program as we work with ISPs to present a realistic and informative view of Wisconsin's Broadband Inventory and Service Areas.

Under non-disclosure agreements, we ensure providers' data collected and shared via our online, interactive mapping tool will not compromise proprietary business information entrusted to us. Key infrastructure must also be masked with concern for public safety.

ISP Non-disclosure Agreement

Provider data is protected by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that aims to accomplish the objectives of the SBDD. If you are interested in reviewing a copy of the the NDA, please drop us an e-mail.

Note that we understand each ISP’s company policies vary, and we are willing to negotiate the terms of the NDA to meet specific provider needs as much as possible. We are, however, prohibited from making the NDA more restrictive than is allowed by NTIA’s SBDD program rules.

Data Collection

The LinkWISCONSIN Provider Survey is a web-based tool used to obtain provider data. Complete instructions are available for ISPs who wish to submit tabular data in the exact format specified by NTIA. An alternate submission path is also available for those providers who may be unable to produce a tabular format submission. In either case, we are here to help you.

If you have questions about provider data or the NDA, please drop us an e-mail.

To review the survey and begin the data submission process, please visit our Wisconsin Provider Portal.

Inclusion in the National Broadband Map

Per requirements and guidelines of the SBDD, the data collected for Wisconsin maps is also provided to NTIA for inclusion in the national broadband map. Our first data submission to NTIA took place on March 31, 2010. Over 80 percent of Wisconsin ISPs participated in this initial submission.

The second data submission to NTIA was submitted on October 1, 2010. With each subsequent submission, ISPs have an opportunity to update their coverage data prior to the submission. More details about subsequent transmissions are forthcoming.
